Mig Toquereau started playing onstage at age sixteen in various rhythm & blues bands. A few years later, he became the lead singer for ''Shake On Shake'', a group that was to become the house band at legendary club The Cricketers. Within its walls, he learns his trade, listening to the greats (Jimmy Rogers, Lazy Lester, Philip Walker...). In 1998, he joined ''Doo the Doo'' on bass duties for hundreds of shows and was the 2002 recepient of the France Blues Best Singer Award. After having backed up numerous performers (Shawn Pittman, Paul Orta...), Mig founded ''Loretta and the Badkings'' and ''Three Gamberros'', two bands that enabled him to let his folk, country and Tex-Mex influences run wild. As a songwriter, he encompasses the works of great names in American music such as Hank Williams, David Hidalgo, Bob Dylan, Lightnin' Hopkins, Tom Waits, Willy Dixon... To consider Mig Toquereau simply as a bluesman would fail to give justice to his many influences. Recorded by Roll Dubois, this first six-track EP is a snapshot of selected compositions and covers, all chosen for their simplicity. A voice, a guitar and a subtle redolence of the American south filling the room from the very first notes.
